I've recently discovered the mythological romance of the Twilight Series. And so far, I can tell you that the pain for putting the book down is as dreadful, if not more than, the pain Bella Swan experience when Edward Cullen decided to leave her.
I first discovered the book when I went grocery shopping with my mom during my brief visit during the MLK long weekend. We were putting the plastics bags in the trunk. Once everything was emptied, I discovered that there was this black book with a withering flower on it. The title baffled me because I could not see a relation between a new moon and a flower.
I was well aware of the book "Twilight". Well... I only knew of it through its movie since I watched with one of my best friends, but still, the knowledge of its existence was present. Finally, I recalled my friend's praises of the book as well as her anxiety for the next one. Of course, having this book in my possession was not a part of my plan for the ride back; however, once I started, I could not part myself from the story's memorizing action and romance. The 17 chapters of Bella and Edward's separation kept me on suspense the whole entire ride back up to Davis, but I would be lying if I said that this extremely prolonged state of uncertainty seemed a bit unnecessary. However, since it ended on a good note, all is forgiven. ^^
Even though I haven't read the first book yet, the movie made up for the gap of the story plot previous of the second book. Though I new the book will be a complete different experience than the movie, I was more anxious to find out how the story continued rather than how it started. That's when GOD sent me an angel from the heavens. My floor-mate, Dave, saw my status on Facebook saying that I was going to "die" if I did not get the 3rd book soon. Being the dear that he is, Dave insisted that he was going to buy it for me the next day. At first, I thought that it was just jesting me; however, just before I was about to go to sleep, Dave knocked on my door, presenting me the 3rd of the Twilight Series: Eclipse. Again, there was no connection between the title and the picture on the cover, but who am I to complain about the author's message.
The third book again took me deep within its pages. Just last night, I stayed up until 5:00am, reading under the covers with a small lamp so I did not wake my roommates with the lights. My obsession with this series was a shock for me. I have never been able to read a book completely through, not to mention a series. Even for the required readings for my English classes were done with the help of Spark notes. But I have no doubt that I will be able to with this one. ^^
I just ordered the 4th of this series online. Waiting for it for 3 days will keep me on the edge, but nothing I can't endure. Of course, after this, I'm planning to actually READ how the story of Edward and Bella had started, but bot until I know the ending.
For those who have not yet discovered the Twilight Series, I highly recommend it. And as for me, well, I'll have no choice but sit at the edge of my seat and ponder as to how Stephanie Meyer finished this master piece for the next 3 days.
